GENESIS
A downloadable game for Windows
A game made for the Flinders University Game Research Lab 2026 Summer Game Jam , with the theme of 'Day One'.
Genesis is a game simulating what it's like to be a god stuck on day one of the world's creation; Let There Be Light. In a Groundhog Day scenario, the player must solve increasingly complex puzzles to use their powers to grant light to the world.
Once again, thank you to FGRL for hosting another jam. It's been a great opportunity to practice and enhance our skills with backing from a wonderful community. We hope you enjoy playing our game despite the bugs and under-achieved ambition (we'll get there someday), and we eagerly await the next jam and the other submissions from fellow participants.
CONTROLS:
The game is click-and-drag based, with no keyboard controls.
CREDITS:

Unfortunately with the limited time we had, we could not implement all the features we'd planned to. This meant that at the least minute (actually, the last 15 minutes before the deadline!), we had to cut out many of the puzzles. If you find that some of the features aren't always explained super well, that the game is too short, or too easy, then we hope you at least appreciate the proof-of-concept we created!
This game has been developed on the lands of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains. We pay respect to elders, past & present.
